Stage 9: Developing Electronic Environment and Digital Transformation

Year
2018 - Present

In implementation of the vision of His Majesty the Hashemite to improve the services provided by public institutions, and due to the efforts of the SDC in designing and developing its technical infrastructure, the SDC sought to automate its operations and present them in a modern electronic concept within simplified procedures that contribute to increasing the satisfaction of service recipient, as the SDC does the following:
During the year 2018, the SDC launched the “E-portfolio” service, which enables investors to view their information, ownership and accounts of deposited securities and all the transactions carried out on them, whether his accounts at the SDC’s central registry or accounts maintained by SDC members (brokers or custodians). In addition, to view all transactions executed to his accounts, including trading operations (buy/sale) through the Amman Stock Exchange. Through this service, the investor is also informed of some data and information related to his investment portfolios and any operations taking place on his ownership, which are implemented directly by the SDC, such as impose/ release ownership restrictions (lien, pledge, freeze), and corporate actions (increase /decrease of capital).
During 2019, the SDC launched text messages via mobile phones for investors (SMS), which enables the investors to follow up the complementary trading operations on their accounts from the sale and / or buy of securities at the Amman Stock Exchange.
During the year 2019, the SDC also completed developing the SDC’s SCORPIO electronic system and upgrading it to the latest version of Oracle in order to keep pace with technological development and to overcome the challenges facing system users, in addition to developing the central system. The electronic system becomes a unified system in structure and standards and with the latest technology “Standardized and new technology system” so that it is compatible with technological development without prejudice to the functional tasks carried out by the system, which are compatible with the SDC’s legislation, functions and procedures.;

In the year 2023, the SDC completed the procedures for developing the e-Portfolio service, simplifying the procedures for subscribing to it electronically, and providing it in the form of an application on smartphones. The SDC also developed the service of SMS, which shall include sending text messages of all types of transactions executed on the investors’ accounts, such as securities transfers, corporate actions, and ownership restrictions, which of it inheritance transfer, family transfer, and transfer for the purpose of dividing the joint ownership and changes executed on the public shareholding companies (increase / decrease of capital or membership termination).
