The SDC receives a delegation from the Iraqi Securities Commission

The Securities Depository Center received a delegation from the Iraqi Securities Commission, headed by the Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Faisal Al Haimus.
The CEO of the SDC, Mrs. Sarah Tarawneh, welcomed the delegation, and during the meeting she provided an introductory overview of the SDC’s tasks, objectives, strategic plans, and services provided to its members and investors.
Mrs. Sanaa Al-Shawish, Head of the Software Development Section, gave the Iraqi delegation an integrated technical presentation on the SDC’s systems. This presentation included a detailed explanation of the SDC’s electronic system (SCORPIO), which is an integrated system for registering, depositing and transferring ownership of securities and settling their prices, in addition to transferring excluded from trading, ownership restrictions and corporate actions.
The discussion also includes the stages of developing the electronic systems in the SDC and the technical environment surrounding them, and the advantages of the electronic system and its future outlook were also mentioned.
The Chairman of the Iraqi Securities Commission, Faisal Al Haimus, praised the technical presentation, stressing the importance of joint cooperation between the SDC and the Iraqi Stock Market.
Al Haimus said that this cooperation will contribute to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Iraqi stock market and protecting investors. He stressed that cooperation with the SDC will have a qualitative addition to the Iraqi stock market.
This visit comes within the framework of joint cooperation between the SDC and the Arab securities markets, with the aim of enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the Arab capital markets.
