The SDC participates in the FEAS 19th Meeting
The SDC represented by Head of the Operations Department, Mr. Ahmad Al-Daoud, participated in the 19th meeting of FEAS, which was held in Muscat-Oman on 03-04/12/2013. The meeting was attended by (34) participating countries.
During the meeting, many aspects related to membership were adopted the African Stock Exchanges Association was accepted as a bilateral member, and Iran Mercantile Exchange was accepted as a full member in FEAS. Additionally, the financial statements for the year 2013 were discussed and approved.
As framework for (FEAS) team work many several presentations related to rules and regulation were displayed. In addition they highlighted the most important activities carried out by FEAS including bilateral visits, on-site training programs, FEAS website, promotional campaign, and its publications reports.
On the sidelines of the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Omani Securities Association and Iran Mercantile Exchange to strengthen cooperation ties and to develop securities industry by exchanging information and technical cooperation.
It is worth mentioning that FEAS was established in 1995 as a regional association aimed to promote cooperation and emphasize harmonization between its members. Currently there are 45 members representing Exchanges and CSDs, and financial services institutions in 29 countries from Europe and Asia. The SDC is an affiliate member since 2005.
