Securities Depository Center’s Web Site Collects Awards

After The Securities Depository Center (SDC)’s website (www.sdc.com.jo) was awarded with the golden trophy for the Best Jordanian Website under the Governmental Organizations category, the Arab website committee in cooperation with Dubai Internet City, Microsoft, MSN Arabia and Business Software Alliance announced that the SDCs website won the silver trophy for the best Arab website, under the financial institutions and insurance sector category In a celebration held in Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai on Thursday 19/4/2007
In addition to the adopted coordination & the smoothness of navigation noticed on the website pages, the SDC was keen to enrich its website with the recent information that interests the Jordanian securities’ investors, as well as exclusively publishing ownerships of companies’ board of directors, and shareholders who own 5% or more of the company shares, supporting with this SDC's effective contribution in enhancing transparency and disclosure which is considered one of the most important factors in building investment decisions in capital markets, in addition to presenting tables and statistical data which are updated daily.
The CEO Samir Jaradat also mentioned that the website is developed to offer several electronic services to securities’ investors, such as the online account viewing that allows the investor to view his/her securities accounts and the transactions executed on these accounts, and the SDC is close to announce the launch of the "e- IPO" the electronic Initial Public Offering system within the e-services presented on its website, which is a new mechanism that allows investors to complete applications for initial public offerings through the SDC's website.
It is worth mentioning that the SDC’s website was awarded this trophy for the financial institutions and insurance sectors’ category, where over (30) sectors received awards in this event, most importantly governmental, health, media, services, transportation and others, where each sector competed for three trophies, Golden, silver and bronze.
