Amman-Jordan. In a statement issued by the Securities Depository Center (SDC), the CEO, Samir Jaradat, stated that the SDC participated in the annual general assembly meeting of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) hosted by Telekurs Financial in Zurich Switzerland.

Over fifty members participate in the meeting in which key issues were discussed including the approval of ANNA’s financial report for 2004 and the forecast for 2005; in addition, Euronext was elected as a member of ANNA’s board of directors instead of VP Securities Services and Takasbank was also elected as a member of ANNA Service Bureau Advisory Board of Directors.

ANNA members approved the hosting of their next meeting by the SDC to be held in Jordan at the end of this year between Dec 7th and Dec 10th. Such an event will be held for the first time in the Middle East Region.

The SDC became a full member of ANNA last year and was appointed as a sub-numbering agent in the Middle East Region. ANNA was established in the year 1992 as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) maintenance agency for the International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) numbering standard  (ISO 6166). Its members include institutions related to securities numbering. The Organization’s objective is to make available to its members and the securities industry as a whole, ISIN codes in a uniform structure for use in any application in the trading and administration of securities in the international securities industry.
