The Jordan Capital Market Institutions hosted a student delegation from the University of Jordan on Monday, 11/05/2026, with the aim of providing an overview of the role and functions of the capital market institutions and the developments witnessed by the Jordanian capital market.

Representing the Securities Depository Center (SDC), Mr. Jafar Al-Suwailameen, Director of Operations Department, delivered a presentation on the SDC’s functions related to the transfer of ownership of securities, clearing and settlement procedures, ownership restrictions, and transfers excluded from trading.

Mr. Najd Al-Najdawi, Director of Registration Department, also delivered a presentation on the SDC’s functions related to the safekeeping and deposit of securities, managing the SDC’s relationships with its members, and training them on the SDC’s electronic systems.

During the visit, emphasis was placed on the SDC’s commitment to international standards aimed at protecting investors and securities market participants, as well as promoting transparency and disclosure practices to provide stakeholders with the necessary information.

The visit concluded with an open discussion session during which students’ questions and inquiries.
