The SDC participates in the ANNA General Assembly Meeting
The Securities Depository Center, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Sarah Al-Tarawneh, and the Director of the Registration Department, Mr. Najd Al-Najdawi, participated in the General Assembly meeting of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA), which was held in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman, from 02–04 /12/2025, with the attendance of representatives from ANNA member countries.
The two-day meeting (03–04/12/ 2025) included discussions on the agenda items, which focused on vital topics aimed at developing and updating international standards in financial markets. The meeting also reviewed financial matters and approved the Association’s budget for 2026. Additionally, the discussions covered the latest developments in ISO standards and coding standards ISIN/FISN/CFI, updates related to the Association’s technical working groups, public relations and marketing, and the Association’s subsidiaries.
The meeting also includes a breakout session on studying the topic of alternative numbering agencies and the extent to which they are needed. Zurich, Switzerland, was designated as the venue for the Association’s next meeting, scheduled for 10–12/06/2026.
Several strategic decisions were made during these sessions regarding membership matters, ranging from discussions on membership compliance to the acceptance of new members. Partner memberships were granted to the following countries: Kazakhstan, Mauritania, and Zimbabwe. Full membership was granted to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines, and the United Republic of Tanzania, where the total number of the Association’s members is 125.
On other hand, on 02/12/2025, during the special event “ANNA Meets the Market,” the SDC’s Chief Executive Officer, Mrs. Sarah Al-Tarawneh, moderated a panel discussion titled “Connected by Standards: The Future of Middle Eastern Capital Markets.” The discussion also addressed the evolution of standards from the past to the future. The panel included representatives from the depository centers of the Sultanate of Oman, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Turkey, and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
It is worth mentioning that the SDC is a prominent member of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and the approved national numbering agent for all securities issues of various types in the Kingdom since 2004.
The SDC’s Chief Executive Officer also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) in its current term. In addition, she has been appointed as a Board Member of the ANNA Implementation Company (AIC), registered in the United Kingdom, representing the Association of National Numbering Agencies.
