The SDC participates in the AMEDA 18th Meeting
The SDC represented by Chairman of SDC's Board of Directors, Mr. Abdul Hamid Alhayari, participated in the 18th meeting of AMEDA, which was held in Dubai on 22-25/09/2013.
The meeting was attended by more than 50 experts and senior officials from 29 CSDs and financial institutions.
As framework for the meeting agenda related to AMEDA Members Session, minutes of the 17th meeting and the amendments of the association's by-law were approved, the membership of Iraq and Ivory Coast was accepted. Also, the proposal of Dubai financial market (DFM) was incorporated to form a Risk Management Working Group.
Many topics were the vibrant pivot of the presentations which covered in the meeting, including new Thomas Murray weightings and how these weightings have affected CSD ratings, introduction to securities borrowing & lending, and CPSS IOSCO principles for FMIs.
Hosting AMEDA in Dubai reflects DFM's keenness to exchange experiences and review their specialized experience in the clearing and settlement and deposit in the capital market.
