The Securities Depository Center wins a membership in the Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) board

The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) held its regular General Assembly meeting during the period 13-14/6/2024, which took place in the city of Madrid in the Kingdom of Spain. During the meeting, elections were held to fill vacant seats on the Board of Directors of the organization. The Securities Depository Center of Jordan, alongside the Republic of Poland, won the membership for the vacant seats. ANNA is responsible for publishing, promoting, maintaining, and providing access to financial instrument standards and securities globally in a standardized and precise format to ensure market benefits wherever they exist. It serves the securities industry in general. The aforementioned organization is internationally recognized as the registration authority for the global standard ISO 6166 (ISIN), ISO 10962 (CFI), and ISO 18774 (FISN) codes, according to the rules and regulations set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

The chief executive officer of the Securities Depository Center of Jordan, Ms. Sarah Tarawneh, emphasized that the Center's representation on the Board of Directors of ANNA stems from the Center's commitment to applying international standards that attract investments to the local market and keeping pace with the latest developments in international standards in global markets. This contributes to enhancing the position of the Jordanian Securities Depository Center and strengthening its role in developing international standards for various securities by working within ANNA council.

It is worth mentioning that the Securities Depository Center of Jordan has been an active member of ANNA since 2004 and was chosen as the agent for numbering and coding securities. This is the third time that the Securities Depository Center of Jordan has won a seat on the Board of Directors of ANNA, having previously won in 2009 and 2018, represented by its chief executive officers.
