The SDC finalizes the requirements for simplifying subscription to the e-Portfolio service

According to the visions of His Majesty to implement one of the projects related to enhancing digital transformation in government services within the vision of economic modernization and in an effort to improve the services provided to the public investing in Jordanian securities, the Securities Depository Center has completed the procedures for launching the updated version of the e-Portfolio service, where it has been simplified for Jordanian investors (individual). They can subscribe to the service electronically and directly through the SDC’s website without the need to present to the SDC. Therefore, anyone will be able to subscribe automatically and obtain his/her own user name and password. All current subscribers will also be able to retrieve their password electronically. This feature was activated using the technology One Time Password (OTP) as an authentication and verification mechanism after the system verified some basic information for investors.

It is worth mentioning that e-Portfolio enables the investor to follow up his ownership and to view the information related to his deposited securities’ accounts whether maintained at the SDC’s central registry or accounts maintained by SDC members (brokers or custodians) in addition to view all transactions executed to his accounts including trading operations (buy/sale). Through this service, the investor is also informed of some data and information related to his investment portfolios and any operations taking place on his ownership, which are implemented directly by the SDC such as impose/ release ownership restrictions (lien, pledge, freeze), and corporate actions (increase /decrease of capital). E-Portfolio is a free service provided to all investors regardless of their classifications or nationalities. It mainly aims to keep the investor informed and constantly follow up on all transactions that occur on his securities accounts.

In order to make it easier for investors to keep tracking their ownership of securities easily and anywhere and to benefit from the features of this service, it will be possible in the coming period to upload this service on smart phones through the “e-Portfolio” application.
