The SDC participates in the AMEDA 19thMeeting

The SDC represented by the Head of the Systems Development Department, Mr. Jamal Al-Shaik, participated in the 19th meeting of AMEDA, which was held in Muscat-Oman on 08-10/03/2014.

The participated members debated minutes of the 18th meeting and the financial statements for the year and the membership of Turkey and Zimbabwe all of the prior topics were approved during the meeting.

AMEDA adopted new management formation, Mr. Mohamed Abdel Salam, Chairman of MISR for Clearing, Depository & Registry (MCDR), was re-elected President. And, Ms. Monica Singer, CEO of Strate Central Securities Depository (South Africa), was re-elected Vice President. Additionally, a number of institutions joined the AMEDA as members including SWIFT, Thomas Murray, Societe Generale De Banque, and Standard Chartered Bank.

The prior topics were covered in the meeting including CSD self-risk assessment, restructuring Stock Exchanges and its implications for CSDs, and longer or shorter settlement cycles were discussed too.
