In a press release issued by the Securities Depository Center (SDC), the SDC Board of Directors elected Abdul Hamid Alhayari  as chairman of the SDC Board of Directors in its session on August 25, 2005. This decision came after Hiyari was appointed as a member of the Board of Directors by the Board of Commissioners of the Jordan Securities Commission (JSC) instead of Mr. Loay Mismar.

Abdul Hamid Alhayari occupied several positions including as a member of the JSC Board of Commissioners and has experience in the Jordan capital market.
